In the exhibition Interstice of Shedding, Stasis Space showcases four artists who use everyday life as a starting point, offering intricate and critical perspectives on the possibilities of contemporary daily life. Artist Chen Yuxing's work, "东方图景" (Oriental Scenery), examines British chinoiserie architecture within a decolonial context. In this project, the adaptation of architecture engages with debates about Oriental ownership under Orientalism. Additionally, Chen Yuxing's project includes a Chinese takeout box printed with the image of a pagoda. The pagoda is used as a cultural symbol of Chinese cuisine. While "Orientalism" refers to European colonial expansion globally, the background of these overseas foods/Chinese cuisine is rooted in the global migration of Chinese people.


龟力空间 Stasis Space展出的《中间的脱壳》展览,四位艺术家以日常为切入点,为当下日常生活的可能性,提供了多种细腻且具有批判性的视角。艺术家陈雨星的作品东方图景,研究了去殖民主义背景下英国的中国风建筑,在这个项目中,建筑的改编介入了东方主义下关于东方所有权的辩论。此外,在陈雨星的项目中包含一张印有塔身的中餐外卖盒,的形象被用当作是中餐的文化象征,如果说东方主义的背景是欧洲国家在全球范围的殖民扩张,那么在这些海外食物/中餐出现的背景则是华人在全球范围内的移民。

As a continued discussion on these topics, Stasis Space has invited Li Qiushi, host from podcast Deviation Allowed (偶然误差FM) and dietary anthropologist Cao Yu (through zoom) to discuss about immigration, colonialism, and naming behind overseas Chinese cuisine.
