Hug Series Dupont Paper Bag

Inspired by some of the works of artist Florence Lanxuan Liu, the most prominent presence on the bag is a pair of hands that are hard to ignore. The shape of these “hands” depicts a pair of virtually non-existent hands, which establish a new connection and interaction with the real hands of you and me. Just as hands express a wealth of meanings in the human world, this pair of virtual hands can also reveal a wealth of emotions and possibilities at your disposal. Hands have also been used throughout history to symbolize confrontation, dissatisfaction, and strug- gle. In the context of confrontation and stability preferred by Stasis Space, the presence of the hand allows for cooperation and confrontation, participation and struggle to be realized at the same time. It is a metaphor for the paradoxical state of movement within stillness, of conflict and harmony.
